THE UNDERSTATED LUXURY OF THE BAUME & MERCIER BAUMATIC CLIFTON COLLECTION

Two elegant new timepieces are joining Baume & Mercier’s Baumatic Clifton Collection. This sophisticated version asserts the Baume & Mercier allure in keeping with the very essence of the Brand: the importance of aesthetic restraint, the refinement of discreet luxury, a deep-seated attachment to the formal originality of streamlined design, and the technical achievement of this reliable, high-performance timepiece that is easy to wear for any occasion.

A refined design with sophisticated finishes

Playing on style, from the most casual to the most precious, is the quintessence of Baume & Mercier; and the Clifton Collection lends itself to the exercise with equal measures of creativity and savoir-faire. The Clifton Baumatic Date and Moon Phase M0A10736 and the Clifton Baumatic M0A10713 take their places in a luxurious version – respectively in a satin-polished rose gold case (750/1000) and in steel and steel topped with satin-polished rose gold (750/1000) – featuring gold-plated indexes and hands and sophisticated finishes. Available in 42mm, the Clifton Baumatic Date and Moon Phase takes on a new case redesigned for this brand-new version in a 39mm diameter, an ideal size for everyone.

Both models are equipped with a self-winding Baumatic manufacture movement. The movement’s decoration reveals circle-grained bridges, a sandblasted and snailed baseplate, and an open-worked gold-plated oscillating weight adorned with snailed “Côtes de Genève" designs. The particularly elegant dial of the Clifton Baumatic M0A10713 takes on a chocolate tone with subtle undertones and a gradation that reveals the meticulous crafting of color and light so distinctive of the Brand. This refined design extends to the strap in brown alligator leather for the Clifton Baumatic Date and Moon Phase M0A10736 and in patinated brown calfskin for the Clifton Baumatic M0A10713. From a technical viewpoint, the Clifton Baumatic Date and Moon Phase M0A10736 features a beautiful watch complication that displays the phases of the moon.

Embodying discreet luxury

With its solid watchmaking expertise, the Clifton Baumatic adapts to every style and occasion, embodying the traditional luxury watchmaking so important to Baume & Mercier that has been part of its DNA since it was founded. The Maison’s designers and watchmakers focus on timelessly elegant pieces, and they bring exquisite care to the quality of the materials in the slightest detail, carefully crafting the texture and hue by harmonizing and diversifying shapes, surfaces, and color palette. They select the best components, pamper the finishes, and scrupulously assemble each timepiece at our manufacture in Les Brenets. This balance between discipline and freedom which began with the watchmaker William Baume and the aesthete Paul Mercier has continued for nearly 200 years thanks to a mastery of styling and an exacting appreciation of beauty. Time, at Baume & Mercier, is there to be admired in a fine, streamlined case.

Baumatic movement

The Baumatic movement, committed to performance

These two new timepieces carry forward the legacy of watchmaking excellence in the form of the self-winding Baumatic Manufacture movement. Designed for the client’s convenience, this highly technical Swiss caliber offers reliability, performance and comfort. During its development, it was tested to demonstrate its durability and its resistance to everyday magnetic fields up to 1,500 Gauss. With a great precision of -4/+6 seconds per day (for the references equipped with COSC-certified movements) and a frequency of 4Hz (28,800 vph), it offers remarkable autonomy thanks to its five-day (120-hour) power reserve. Completing its technical assets, it is water-resistant up to 5 ATM (approximately 50 m)

8_years_warranty

Like all Baumatic models, its components benefit from an extended warranty of 6 years in addition to the standard two years of international warranty. To activate this guarantee, simply register the piece on the Baume & Mercier website within 60 days after purchase: www.baume-et-mercier.com

CLIFTON BAUMATIC DATE AND MOON PHASE - M0A10736

With a diameter of 39 mm and a thickness of 12.6 mm, the round case is crafted in satin-polished rose gold (750/1000) and topped with a rose gold crown (750/1000). It is protected by a scratch-resistant domed sapphire crystal treated on both sides with an anti-glare coating. The sapphire crystal case back is fastened by four screws. It may be engraved upon request.

The hour, minute, second, date, and phase of the moon appear gracefully on a finely-grained off-white dial punctuated with facetted, riveted indexes in a slightly elongated trapezoid shape and topped with gold-plated alpha-shaped hands and a gold-plated counter hand. The calendar and moon phase indications have been redesigned. The date appears within a finely diamond-ground, snailed bezel which reflects the emblematic roundness of the collection and flatters the polished gold-plated moon phase disk, sprinkled with stars against a black background.

The self-winding Baumatic Manufacture movement BM14-1975 AC1 brings this elegant timepiece to life.  The model is mounted on a brown alligator strap with all-square scales, featuring tone-on-tone and burgundy over stitching on the top and bar tacks around the buckle. This supple strap is interchangeable and may be changed without the need for tools using the very reliable curved spring bar system. It fastens with a satin-polished rose gold (750/1000) pin buckle.

“CHOCOLATE” CLIFTON BAUMATIC - M0A10713

The round case is available in a 40 mm diameter with a thickness of 11.3 mm. In steel and steel topped with satin-polished rose gold (750/1000) featuring a crown in gold-plated PVD steel, it asserts itself in a contrast that lends it character and depth. It is protected by a scratch-resistant domed sapphire crystal treated on both sides with an anti-glare coating. Fastened with four screws, the sapphire crystal case back may be customized with an engraving.

The visual depth of this timepiece is enhanced by the luminous dial in a chocolate tone with white crosshairs in the center. The multiple reflections and gradated hues of the dial – lighter in the center and darker along the edges – demonstrate the meticulous work in the color for which Baume & Mercier has always been renowned.

The hours, minutes, seconds, date and certified COSC chronometer indications are harmoniously arranged along the slightly elongated, gold-tone trapezoid riveted indexes which coordinate with the gold-plated facetted alpha-shaped hands; the enlarged aperture displays the date at 3 o’clock.

The self-winding Baumatic Manufacture movement BM13-1975A COSC powers this piece with reliability and precision. The interchangeable patinated brown calfskin strap may be detached and reattached in a single step without the need for tools thanks to a very reliable curved spring bar system. The triple folding buckle is crafted in stainless steel with security push-pieces.

With these two new Clifton Baumatic watches, Baume & Mercier reasserts the aesthetic scope of its inspiration and its exactingness in terms of quality. Its most luxurious creations reflect its affiliation to the luxury sphere and pursuit of authenticity, expressing refinement with a certain stylistic and practical ideal of purity and restraint, as well as perfect technical mastery.
