This Brand Saga of 36 video contents will be unveiled from May to November 2023 on our social networks to help our community get to know Baume & Mercier better and understand our values. 

You will receive the assets of this Brand Saga every month in the usual Social Media packages. However, all assets are already available on demand if needed. These 36 contents are organized in 12 different thematic chapters. Videos are available either separately or grouped by chapter.

1918. It’s about the genesis of the Baume & Mercier style. William Baume, the watchmaker and Paul, the beauty lover. When they met in 1918, our two modern founders decide that they had to combine the unique approach to excellence from the Baume family to more attention to the esthetic aspect of its timepieces Paul Mercier addressing this question to William Baume in 1912 during their first meeting: “People want freshness, beauty and lightness. “A perfect balance between technical quality and contemporary esthetics, that is what the brand we make should be” William and Paul…two different yet complementary minds that will create the balance between design signatures and utmost quality. Baume & Mercier Saga #4 - William Baume, the watchmaker
It’s about William with its down-to-earth common sense, dedication the watchmaking heritage and this quest for innovation and quality. It’s about a passionate of watchmaking and a commitment to manufacture timepieces of the highest quality. William Baume inherited the Baume family concern, which had been in business since 1830, and ensured its future as Baume & Mercier. He became the Managing Director of Baume at Les Bois in 1910 and went on to establish Baume & Mercier in Geneva in 1918 with Paul Mercier. William was the watchmaker in the partnership with Mercier and took care of technical and production issues. He was particularly instrumental in obtaining for Baume & Mercier the Geneva Seal hallmark in 1919, the highest quality distinction of Swiss watchmaking. As a talented and forward-looking watchmaker, he transformed the business that had been established by his grandfather, Louis Victor, into a modern watch company, while staying true to its traditions.
