THE BAUME COLLECTION ARRIVES AT BAUME & MERCIER
Geneva, October 20, 2020 – Following the announcement made in May 2020, BAUME & MERCIER formalizes the return of BAUME in the form of a collection featuring six models and two limited editions: BAUME OCEAN. BAUME & MERCIER continues to write its story by integrating a new collection to its portfolio, a BAUME collection focusing on three strong design codes: an off-center crown at 12 o’clock in the spirit of the pocket watch; moving lugs for better comfort; and a system of interchangeable straps with buttons for more convenience.
SIX MODELS IN TRENDY COLORS
The BAUME collection includes six contemporary models with different looks. Three 35mm quartz models and three 41mm models that adjust to any wrist size. This new BAUME & MERCIER collection remains loyal to the BAUME aesthetic, with a contemporary approach combining creativity, convenience and respect for the environment.
BAUME & MERCIER stands by the fundamental BAUME aesthetic while introducing to each model a colored flange in a color coordinating with that of the small seconds hand and the overstitching on the strap. Blue, red, violet, green or black, each BAUME watch reveals a color combination that makes it unique! All the straps are crafted in natural materials, and they are interchangeable thanks to a recycled button system. A cork lining on the strap provides absolute comfort for everyday wear and the color of the thread used to attach the button also coordinates with the color of the watch!
BAUME & MERCIER continues to explore its new vision of watchmaking which began in 2018 by presenting a collection containing no precious materials or animal products and also by recycling unused components. BAUME’s interchangeable straps are crafted in natural, upcycled or recycled textiles such as RPET. The packaging continues to be reduced to the strict minimum, thanks to a special hexagonal package made of FSC-certified cardboard.
In keeping with its commitment to its clients, current BAUME strap selection will be available for purchase on the brand’s e-commerce platform, enabling BAUME wearers to accessorize their favorite model.
As part of the brand commitment in keeping with a circular economy, BAUME & MERCIER is committed to donating 2% of sales from each BAUME model to NGOs throughout the world, including WASTE FREE OCEANS.
